Frequently Asked Questions
Local Sourced Raw Materials
As the first distillery to locate in Yolo County California, a world-famous region of diverse and high-quality agriculture, Patio29 Spirits Company is uniquely positioned to take advantage of the location. The distillery owners grew up here and know many local farmers that are suppliers of raw materials for the distillery. The proximity to the world-famous wine region of Napa and Sonoma Counties, and the emerging wine area of the Sierra Foothills above Sacramento provide access to plentiful high-quality raw materials for our products. High- quality raw materials are a requirement for high-quality distilled spirits.
From Farm to Glass
Patio29 Spirits Company is a true small-batch, "farm-to-glass” artisan craft distillery. We will only make the good stuff. The good stuff requires the highest-quality and freshest raw materials. These raw materials are products of agriculture… and Yolo County and the surrounding region grow the best. It is a bountiful region and we take complete advantage partnering with local producers to ensure high quality and goodness in the bottle and in your glass. We want to know everything about our ingredients: where they came from and how they were farmed. We value authenticity in our products, and we know our customers value the same.
Patio29 Spirits Co. distillery address is 723 Railroad Ave, Winters California 95694. For reference, our building is located across the street from the Winters Library parking lot.
Winters is a charming and picturesque small California town with a higher than average number of restaurants, wineries and breweries per capita. The town originally formed with the construction of the railroad, and remained a sturdy and small agricultural center when the railroad later relocated. The building that Patio29 occupies is a 1940s-built fruit packing warehouse that used to be right next to the tracks where the packaged produce from the local farms and orchards would be loaded in train cars and transported to food distributors located throughout the state and nation.
We use local-sourced grains and fruits from Yolo County, and nearby Solano, Napa and Sonoma counties whenever possible. Some grains like wheat, rye and barley, although some can be grown in the area, are sourced from outside the area only because of what is needed for specific recipes and flavor profiles. For our fresh grape pomace and wine grapes we source from local producers as well as some of the best vineyards and wineries in the Napa Valley. Only our rum is made from ingredients completely sourced from outside the region.
